Dr Janice Luk is a Canadian optometrist who graduated with honours at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. She was born and raised in Toronto but currently practices in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. She has a special interest in dry eye disease, and is passionate about bridging the gap between beauty trends and cosmetics and their impact on eye health through education. 

She has had the privilege of speaking at conferences such as the Canadian Dry Eye Summit, the BC Doctors of Optometry’s annual conference and is a Key Opinion Leader and part of an advisory board for numerous eye care industry and pharmaceutical companies. 

She is a board member for the BC Doctors of Optometry, currently chairing the Membership Committee and is a partner with the American Lash Association.  In 2023 she won the BC Doctor’s of Optometry Young Optometrist of the Year and in 2022 she won the Eyes on Eyecare Optometry Innovation Award.  She is an active member of the Canadian Women in Eyecare, a team captain for the Cycle for Sight which is an annual fundraising cycling event for Fighting Blindness Canada and has taken part in multiple Orbis Plane Pulls and Homeless Connect fundraising events.  In her spare time she loves to snowboard, hike, run and read. 

She feels fortunate to be an optometrist so that she can provide her patients with eye care, however her biggest passion in optometry is bridging the gap between eye care and beauty trends through education. She values communicating in a way that is compassionate yet empowers and educates patients to take charge of their eye health.
